I actually like these quotes as much as the coffee. I loved this one today enough to take a picture of it.
"All children need a laptop. Not a computer, but a human laptop. Moms, dads, grannies and grandpas, aunts, uncles - someone to hold them, read to them, teach them. Loved ones who will embrace them and pass on the experience, rituals and knowledge of a hundred previous generations. Loved ones who will pass to the next generation their expectations of them, their hopes, and their dreams." ~ General Colin L. Powell
Oh....and did I tell you that I almost killed my dog on Tuesday? Remember what the weather was like here? SNOW? Well, I had such a a crazy day with the Uno's Fundraiser. I left the house at 3:55 and I guess I must have had a lot on my mind because I left him outside.
For over 4 hours.
Chris got home at 8:30 and his was still sitting out on the deck covered in snow.
I still feel horrible.
Good thing his hair is long huh?
My poor baby.

.the way I see it #273.
.happy birthday chris!.
This picture completely cracks me up...because honestly...Chris felt like crap on his birthday on Sunday. Can you tell?
Really, he busted his butt all weekend on my floor, so really it is partially my fault, but he ever complained. He didn't even want to eat anything on his birthday - but we had to do cake!
I didn't have any candles (note to remember these for Connor's birthday!), so we used tea lights. It worked.
The boys were really excited about the cake and we gave Daddy Guitar Hero for wii, so we had fun with that on Sunday night!

.home studio.
I seriously have the BEST bunch of friends who sometimes believe in me more then I believe in myself.
This weekend, my wonderful husband, and my friend MaryJo's husband Bob, and my friend Shannon's husband Steve put down this AWESOME wood floor in my studio. Say bye-bye to the carpet! Really....I sit in here and almost cry...I like it that much. I know how hard they worked on it and for that reason it means that much more to me. I can't tell you what an amazing job they did, and for once my whole dream of being a photographer feels so real having a room like this to work in.
As you can see, I moved one of my desks into my studio so I can also use it for in person proofing, and I can also have the ability to shoot and hook the camera right up to the computer so it instantly downloads the pictures and clients can see them on the screen as I take them.
On the right of my desk I have a whole bunch of the different products I sell including coffee table books, mini easels, picture magnets, etc. So when people are in my studio for shoots they can see all of the things they can do with their pictures.
And....the boys love it too because now the puck slides when they play knee hockey in here!
Really.....I can't thank Bob, Steve, and Chris enough. I can't. This room is a dream come true for me.
I am in LOVE.
Thank you to the best set of friends I could have ever asked for. I am so lucky to have all of you in my life.

winter break....
Really...yesterday the boys were obviously home with me. I have not had a SEVERITY 1 troublce ticket that lead to a software defect in years. I had one that was opened on Wednesday night. Yesterday morning I was at my desk at 6:00 am working, trying to figure out what what the heck was going on. I could go into details on what happened but all I would do is confuse everyone, but let's just say it is UGLY. The patch hopefully will be placed on the servers today, and I can put this behind me with my fingers crossed that the fraud losses are not there at all.
Anyway...I was on the phone all day with people and the boys decided to at each others throats all day. Fighting, tattle tailing...la la la la laaaaa. So what do I do? Go and get another wii remote to replace the one that Connor washed. Call the Super Nanny...I know. But another wii remote for them is like putting a pacifier in a crying babies mouth. I needed to work, and I knew that is the only thing that would keep their attention. 2 boys + 1 wii remote= NOT a good thing.
The afternoon was quiet. I didn't even make it to the gym I was so swamped. Then around 4:00 my boss calls with the director of the product that had the issue in his office. Less then 2 minutes later Celia, Connor's friend and Christy's daughter that lives down the street is at the door. As always, Gehrig goes ballistic. I am trying to talk so I run up to my bathroom and lock the door. It still isn't quite, but better. I knew Celia was afraid of the dog so I knew she wouldn't come in if he was not locked up, so I hoped she would just go home on her own. Well, she must have run into my neighbor Michelle who was coming over to drop off a check, and came in with her? Not sure...I was locked in the bathroom. Somewhere in all of this Gehrig gets out. He is running all over the neighborhood. My home phone is ringing. I am still trying to talk to my boss and honestly, I want to crack.
My boss starts working in the database just long enough for me to come to the top of the stairs and tell Michelle I am on the phone with my boss with a work problem. She got Celia home, and starting trying to get Gehrig with her van (that works EVERY time!). At around 4:45 I hang up with my boss after we FINALLY figured out what the issue was. Jen is coming to pick us up for hockey in 20 minutes. The boys were supposed to be TOTALLY dressed because Chris was meeting us a hockey. CJ's equipment is still wet in the dryer. I have not showered and honestly...look like hell. I tell them if they get dressed I will take them to Wendy's on the way home. THANK GOD they took the bribe. I was running out of time and they really pulled through.
When Jen picked us up I sat back and just let this big breath out and laughed. You have to. I made it through another day!
Anyway...on a training note. Still hanging at 26 lbs...which is good. I had a couple of weak moments this weekend with the chicken wings and sweet potato fries at Thomas Creek Ice Arena. And...well...I had another weak moment yesterday at Target when I was getting the wii remote and I...well....got a Cadbury Creme Egg too. BUT...I made up for it today on the treadmill. When I first started running my 5K's (3.2 miles) on Wednesdays I was running them slow...at around 48 minutes. Last week I cut that down to 44 minutes, and this week I blew that away at 38:30. It is nice to see this training pay off! :) I am going to be running a 5K on Mothers Day, the weekend after the walk in DC for the Breast Cancer Collation of Rochester....so I am sure I will be ready!
Anyway....have a good day!
one more?
It really was cool.
I know I am a dork. Yes, I LOVE watching NASA TV.
But how can you say that is not cool?
Even if the full moon makes me kids total wackos.
lunar eclipse
Here is the lunar eclipse taken with my 85mm lens from my deck last night. Right when the moon was covered it started snowing, so I didn't have much luck capturing the eclipse the "other way".
CJ stayed up with me and watched the whole thing in between American Idol. :)
Want to view it LARGE?

.lunar eclipse.
Yes....had the camera out tonight and took a whole bunch of pictures from the back deck. Right as the moon became totally covered it started snowing. Before that it was CLEAR!
I will post more pictures tomorrow...I had a rough day today...more on that tomorrow too. :)
Happy lunar eclipse!
American Idol Baby!!
Brian, don't even bother calling me telling me what a loser I am for watching this show...I already know.
I LOVE AMERICAN IDOL. Maybe I can find one of those oval stickers for the back of my van to share my love? I*HEART* AI. Shannon?
Anyway...this is what I want to know. Why do the judges pick on all of these "young" kids about singing like they are 80 years old when they pick "60's" for the theme for the first week.? People who were born in the 60's are in their 40's....the maximum age I think for American Idol is 28?
Why not just let them pick the song the first week to really show their style and then go into these horrible theme weeks? I have to admit, I hate 60's week. The only thing worse is big band week. 99.9% of the people who watch this show didn't recognize 2/3's of the songs tonight.
Give us some hits!! Their are a few that should go right now because of talent and their are a few that I would like to go because they are ANNOYING. More on them next week.
.brothers and best friends.
When they are not beating each other up they are best friends. CJ loves to read, and their new thing is CJ reading books to Connor. They will sit in a chair together forever and read.
I just love this in so many ways. I have been trying to get a picture of it because they do it all of the time and I don't ever want to forget it.
.the best.
I guess it really IS a good week to be off of school. The boys loved watching the space shuttle land live this morning!
It really is awesome to watch and as you can see they were all ready with their foam fingers for Atlantis' arrival!
.for shannon.
This picture is for Shannon who had me laughing so hard last night because she can't understand why I would buy a chicken and roast it myself when you can buy an already roasted chicken in the store for the same price.
One word.
skin.
You can't beat this nice golden brown crispy skin....I know it is BAD...but a TINY bit followed up by a run from hell the next day at the gym makes it okay.
CJ and Connor told me "It was the best pork in the world." last night. Too bad it wasn't pork...it was "the other white meat".

.washed.
Connor comes in my office and says, "Mommy, can I have a snack?"
"Sure Connor."
30 minutes go by.
"Mommy, the wii remote isn't working anymore."
"Let me see it.", I said.
He hands it to me and water drips out of it.
"Why is it wet Connor?"
"Well, I had chocolate for my snack and it got all over it so I washed it for you."
We now have one clean non-working wii remote with 3 more days of me trying to work and watch them, and a little boy with really good intentions. :)
.sometimes the best team doesn't win.
Yeah I know...old picture, but isn't it better than no picture at all?
Sorry about not blogging all weekend. For those of you that live within 10 miles of Thomas Creek Ice Arena, I am sorry if my loud mouth annoyed you all weekend. :)
CJ played in a tournament all weekend and what a blast we had watching them! He had a game on Friday night and he scored 2 goals. I wish I had my camera with my when he skated over to the glass at the end of the game with a smile from ear to ear on his face as he told me "Mom, I scored TWO goals!" The best feeling in the world, and one of the best part of being a mom to two athletic boys. As an athlete myself, there is nothing better then watching your kids see all of the awesome things that being a part of a sport provides. I just love it....I love being their Mom....
Even when they don't win. :( There are lessons to be learned there as well. They won on Friday night, won on Saturday morning, lost on Saturday night, and then won again on Sunday.. Didn't I say I was at the arena all weekend? They ended up seeded 2nd going into the semi-finals and had to play the team they beat on Sunday in a really close game again.
They lost.
In a shootout.
I always LOVED watching the shootouts in the NHL games. So exciting, so dramatic, such an awesome and exciting way to win....but the worst way to lose. Especially when it is your child's team and he was the first shooter in the shootout.
He tried so hard. He did. He didn't make his goal. 3 others on his team didn't either. Webster had two shooters score.
In 3 short days I saw CJ's face light up as he scored 2 goals and I wiped elephant size tears off his face when they lost too. I tried my hardest not to cry right along with him. I lost too.
I am sure I will do this so many times in the next 20 some years. I am so proud, I am glad I could be there for both the good and bad.
Being involved in sports even at 6 teaches life's lessons so well.
We can't win everything in life. Win or lose, your parents will always be there to share that excitement and to wipe away those tears. Sometimes the best team doesn't win. You can play your heart out, give 120%, and still not end up on the top.
I think this quote says it well -
""History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encountered heartbreaking obstacles before they triumphed. They won because they refused to become discouraged by their defeats." B.C. Forbes
Just get the next one CJ! Mommy is SO proud of you!

.our **SUPER HOT** valentines day date.
Our **SUPER HOT** Valentines Day date included hockey practice and Wendy's. I mean come on, what more could you ask for?
Actually Grandma and Grandpa Williams sent the boys Wendy's gift cards for Valentines Day so they wanted to take US out to dinner. So they did. :)
Really though....Chris and I just love being parents to these awesome two little boys and there is nothing we would rather do then to spend time with them. It was a GREAT date!

.the way I see it #280.
Happy Valentines Day to me.
A 3 mile walk, a non-fat, sugar free Caramel Macchiato, and a good thought for the day.
"You can learn a lot more from listening than you can from talking. Find someone with whom you don't agree in the slightest and ask them to explain themselves at length. Then take a seat, shut your mouth, and don't argue back. It's physically impossible to listen with your mouth open." John Moe
.allergy shots.
A lot of people ask us how Connor's Allergy shots are going, and this picture just shows you that he still has a LONG way to go.
Because he had the one reaction they totally backed him off to weekly shots but only ONE dose of in each arm (3 different venoms, 2 in one shot and 1 in the other). So really...it almost doubles the length of the process.
Then he got sick and they didn't give him his shots that week, and that adds two weeks to the process because they have to re administer the week before and then do the week he missed.
So....we are not even 1/2 way done yet. :(
This morning I forgot to put his numbing creme on his arms and it really messed him up mentally, but when he got the first shot and it didn't hurt he just laughed.
He even gave his nurses a Valentine with his picture on it! :)
.little boy face.
You can tell I am getting a bit antsy to start doing photo shoots again because I bring my camera every where now.
This was from this morning at his allergy shots. I wish his arm wasn't in the way, but he really does still have some of that "little boy" face when you can get a candid shot of him. It is hard to believe he will be 5 in less then 1 month!
.hearts.
First of all let me start by saying that whomever made these hearts really needs to fix their machine because the words on them are all messed up!
I can't stand these things, but I got a tub of them to put onto top of the boys cupcakes for school. WOW have these things changed.
What ever happed to "BE MINE" or what seemed "LOVE YOU" or even "KISS ME".
We have updated the candy for this generation to include technical sayings like "IM ME", and "EMAIL ME".
Now you also have to know "texting" lingo to figure them out. Like, "UR KIND" to "UR KING", to "URA TIGER."
Then we have ones like "YOU (HEART) ME", and "(HEART) OF GOLD". Huh?
And lets just say these didn't make it on top of the cupcakes that went into Connor's preschool or CJ's 1st grade classroom - "LOVER BOY", "MARRY ME", "HOT LOVE".
Some other new ones I found were "PURR FECT", "BEAR HUG", and the one above that cracked me up, "YES DEAR."
How things change.

.I hope.
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!
These hearts say so many different things then they used to when I was a kid. Some of them I was actually embarrassed to put them on the top of cupcakes going into my kids schools. Some were totally inappropriate.
I liked this one though.
I hope for so many things in 2008...only time will tell if I get all that I hope for, but I will start with a cure. :)
.me -26.
In July when Christy was diagnosed with breast cancer I knew I had to do something.
Less then one month later I was in the doctors office with chest pains. That day I was greeted at by a nurse who quickly brought be back to an exam room and asked how long I had been having the chest pains. "About 2 months," I responded with tears in my eyes.
My family history with blood pressure, heart related issues, and cancer is not good, and for some reason that day I just thought that I was going to be given the same bad news so many in my family have been given before.
My family history with blood pressure, heart related issues, and cancer is not good, and for some reason that day I just thought that I was going to be given bad news.
The nurse that brought be back to the room quickly got on my case for not coming sooner. I couldn't. I didn't want to hear what I KNEW they were going to say. I wasn't prepared for what the nurse did say. Her husband was driving home to his 2 kids just the year before in his early 30's and had a heart attack and died.
She had tears in her eyes and to this day I really think she was assigned to me for a reason.
32 isn't too young to have a heart attack.
My heart was fine that day, but the diagnosis from my doctor was not. My cholesterol was not good. The chest pains were not a good sign. My weight was at one of the highest it has even been.
I watched my friend Christy, at 38, fight her breast cancer with he attitude that she could beat ANYTHING, and then it hit me that I didn't have to have the same fate as my mother. I had a choice. I had to realize that I was worth taking care of. I had too much to offer the world. My husband needed me. My kids needed me.
When I walked out of the doctor that day I was given 6 months to do something about it or else. I know my doctor didn't think I would actually do something about it. She gave me that whole "see you in 6 months."
I told her I was doing this walk, the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, and it was going to change my life. She didn't believe me. Not for one second.
Well...here I am. In a place that I have not felt comfortable enough to be in for the last few years. I am in front of the camera and not behind it. I am dressed the way I love to dress. I am in my Cortland black and red...the college I graduated from back in 1996. The college I prided myself in by pitching for them on their softball team when I was in the best shape of my life.
It hasn't been easy. There is blood on my sleeve. I muscles are sore. My feet have taken a beating. My training has been so intense it has left little time for anything else.
But, damit...I am going to prove my doctor wrong..for me..for my kids..for my husband...and for my mom who would have been so proud of what I am doing.
I am a different person today then I was 6 months ago because of Christy's Crew.
"Doing good to others is not a duty, it is a joy, for it increases our own health and happiness.”
How true that is.
cupcake?
Want a cupcake?
I have about 6 dozen of these here. :) Sorry, the candles don't come with them.

.st. john fisher college soccer.
The boys (Connor especially) have not been happy with their mother the last few weeks because of me being so busy with the walk.
Connor even said on Saturday that "He hates Christy's Crew." and wanted to know when I could stop "working for Christy." I laughed...well sort of. It always bothers me when my kids say things like that, but I know what I am doing is the right thing...for me....for my community....for my heath and ultimately my future.
So on Sunday morning when we announced that we were going to a "walk to benefit cancer" that were not happy...until they got there and realized it was a family event and these three guys were there!
Christy's Crew attended the Gilda's Walk for Wellness to support the Gidla's Club of Rochester out at Greece Ridge Mall. It was nice to attend a family event, and the boys meet these three guys from the St. John Fisher Soccer team, and they played soccer with them for about 2 hours in the middle of the mall! Seriously though, what a GREAT bunch of guys. Chris and I can't wait to take them to one of their games next fall!
Anyway, the walk went great, and our training went great at noon, but I have to admit....I have been struggling with the fact that I am busting my butt and the weight stopped coming off. I did 9 miles on Saturday, 4 on Sunday morning, Yoga for a hour and gained almost 2 lbs....and that was after staying at down 24 lbs for the whole week before.
I know...I know....the comments are going to start coming....STOP WEIGHING YOURSELF!! Sorry...I can't. Don't bother telling me. The only people that are on a diet and don't step on the scale all of the time to weigh themselves probably are the people that don't need to be on the diet in the first place. I mean come on....
We live in an instant gratification society. We want to see results, and when you spend hour after hour busting your butt away from your family you want to see RESULTS. la la la la...well....women go though "stuff" that can change weight loss...la la la la la...I don't care. When the scale goes down, I eat better. When I bust my butt and the scale doesn't budge I say "why in the hell am I doing this" and I eat an entire small heart shaped carrot cake in one sitting. (Thank you to the boy scouts, and our friend Ryan Briggs for the amazing Carrot Cake from Cheesy Eddie's on South Ave. Yes, it was an entire cake, but it was a small one. ...and seriously the best piece of carrot cake I have ever had.)
So today I go to the gym all pissed at myself for eating that cake. I totally do this crazy 3 mile walk on the hill treadmill with all 3 miles done on a 10-25% incline at 3.8-4.0 mph...I step on the scale...and....bang. I lost 2 more lbs.
So, basically....the moral of the story is eat a good Carrot Cake daily and you will lose weight!! Who am I kidding...I am totally one of those who can eat a cheese burger and my ass instantly is 2 sizes bigger. It sucks.
Oh well...I am going to take my 2 lbs and run with it (literally!). I am now down 26 lbs and have about 50 more to go! :)

.hockey mom.
It was one of the the top two worst moments I have seen in sports along with Buffalo Bill, Kevin Evertt, breaking his neck in a football game earlier this season.
Let's hope and pray that Richard Zednik outcome is a good as Kevin Evertt's has been.
I will be willing to bet you won't be able to find a neck guard in any of the hockey stores in upstate New York for a while, and that there will be more kids wearing them in their hockey games from here on out as well.
And if that wasn't bad enough, I turned off that mess to turn on Extreme Makeover Home Edition which last night featured The Gilyeat Family. It was about a single father of 4 who served two tours in Iraq and lost his leg in combat. You can watch the show HERE, but seriously....get a box of tissue first. What an amazing story. What an amazing group of Marines. Just watch it. :)
Anyway....hug your kids today. Tell your friends and family that you love them. You just never know.

9 miles.
I will tell you want....if you ever want to be a part of an amazing experience do one of these walks. You do things you never thought you would ever do....weekend after weekend.
Yesterday morning we hosted a jewelry party at the Iron Butterfly and it went awesome. We sold over $2500.00 in jewelry!!!! We will get about 30% of that and another 30% will be used to purchase jewelry for the women of going through breast cancer treatments at Pluta Cancer Center. Just amazing once again.....THANK YOU!!!
After the party it was back to training....Our training schedule is pretty tough. Walk 3-5 miles 2 days a week, do 35-45 minutes of cross training 1 day, have one LONG walk on Saturday, and have another semi long walk on Sunday. The long walks mirror the walk weekend where we will be doing 26.2 miles on Saturday and 13.1 miles on Sunday.
We are at the beginning of our training so are building up the miles on the weekend walks, and yesterday was a 9 mile walk. All of us decided we were SICK of the treadmills so we where heading outside. We did. We walked in different groups throughout the Rochester Area based on our schedule. Our group, Shannon, Janelle and I did a 9.3 mile walk yesterday afternoon in just over 2.5 hours. Not too bad huh?
Outside gave us another kick in the ass that we had not been getting on the treadmills that is for sure. We still had a great time, and honestly, I feel fine today!
This morning many members of Christy's Crew are participating in the Gilda's Walk for Wellness. Gilda's Club was created in honor of Gilda Radner and they offer all different types of support for cancer patients and their families in their time of need. The walk is a family event complete with kids activities so we are heading out this morning so they can learn the value of volunteering and participating in events like this.
Then it is back to the gym for our weekly training and a meeting. After training, my good friend Rekha is coming in to talk to everyone about her walking experience last year at the DC walk. I am really excited for her to share her story....then back home....for the first time all weekend it seems! :)

.go gaints....but not as a lawn ornament. :)
I have neglected to give a shout and and a big thank you to my awesome friend Shannon for giving Chris and the boys this WONDERFUL **sarcasm noted** NY Giants lawn ornament for Christmas!!
Unfortunatly, it didn't come down with the rest of the Christmas decorations because the Giants were doing so well and an we just COULDN'T take it down because what if it was lucky???
And another special thank you to Shannon for your call after the Giants won the Super Bowl giving my husband the WONDERFUL idea **sarcasm noted** that this WONDERFUL **sarcasm noted** lawn ornament needs to stay up until NEXT season.
You are the best....and honestly....I think you need one for your husband and your front yard as well! :)
.odds and ends.
Let me start with the gross stuff and get that over with....if you get grossed out about....well....passing gas....you might want to stop here. Can you please explain to me why boys fart more then women and then why they can fart and actually crap their pants while doing it? I don't get that at all. Both boys this morning were sent to the bathroom when I was getting them dressed for school because they both farted and crapped just enough so the inside of their butt cheeks and had what I am going to call a "crap coating." Really? How does that happen?
As a woman it is hard to admit anything about farting, because really, we don't do it as much as men. If we need to fart, we hold it in. It doesn't matter who we are with...we don't just let them go. It isn't a contest amongst our peers to see who can launch the most deadly or loud fart.
Can visualize if women did that?
**Women sitting around at a ladies function, drinking wine. FFFFFFFFGGGGHHHHHHHH. "Oh great one Sally!", "Sue, man that one STUCK!", "Patty, wow....10 out of 10 for that silent but deadly!"**
Okay, enough visualization there...BUT...I am sure there isn't a women out there that could admit that they didn't have a accidental "slip" from time to time. Okay, I can't believe I am actually typing this, but....I HAVE NEVER, EVER, EVER CRAPPED MY PANTS FARTING.
So what is it? What is the difference between men and women here??? Can someone please help me???
Okay....onto the next topic of the day...if I am 75 years old and in Michaels buying 5 things kitting yarn as 5 different orders so I can use a 40% off coupon for each one, counting out EXACT change for EACH order out of my 70's brown wallet, with 10 people waiting in line behind me in the old register open and then when I am done making sure my wallet is in my "pocket book", and my coat, scarf, hair cover thing is all on and ready before I move away from the register so the next person can go....PLEASE SHOOT ME.
And finally....to my wonderful fellow residents of Victor who enjoy their morning coffee from Dunkin Donuts....when the cars are blocking off 96 in both directions because the line for the drive thru is around the building and out to the road, can you please do to things....
- Get your lazy butt out of your car and go into the restaurant and get your coffee because NO ONE is in there.
- If you are worried about getting out of the car and slipping in your high heals on the ice, then can you at least get off to ONE side of the parking lot so people can actually PULL into the parking lot?
Anyway....Happy Friday!
Oh...and don't forget Christy's Crew is hosting a jewelry party tomorrow at The Iron Butterfly Health Club in Victor. Don't like jewelry? Stop by and get a 50/50 raffle ticket!!

.diet coke.
We have certain rules in our house about when the boys can have soda. It is always diet coke, but they can only have soda on pizza nights and holidays.
Of course on Sunday CJ pointed out that it was a "holiday" because it was super bowl Sunday. Chris told them that yes, they could have soda on Sunday and if the Giants won they could have soda for one week when ever they wanted.
As big as a Giants fan that he is, I don't honestly think he actually thought they would win and therefore the boys wouldn't be drinking soda all week.
Well....this was Connor's lunch today. He is taking full advantage of the deal his father made.

.growing up.
It always was so interesting to me as a mother of two young kids how many times people would come up to you and tell you to "Enjoy them while they are this age, they grow up way too fast."
You sort of "yeah whatever" them in your mind because honestly, there are times as a parent of a toddler or little kid that are so tough that you honestly feel yourself almost wishing the days away because you just don't know how you are going to get through them. I know some of this is because of the fact that Chris and I had the boys so close together and Connor was such a challenging baby, toddler, kid....whatever.
Here I sit as a mother to an almost 7 and 5 year old and I look at pictures around the house and all of a sudden it hits me. Connor is going to Kindergarten in just 6 short months. I have worked from home since CJ was born. I have spent my days juggling work and being a mom. In just 6 short months I my house will be empty from 8:15 to 3:35 pm. Quiet.
And now, all of a sudden I wished I had listen to what others had told me. I wish I would have enjoyed those first steps more. I wish I would have enjoyed those middle of the night feedings while they lasted. I wish I would have enjoyed all of the hours that they wanted to be all snuggled on your lap. I wish I would have enjoyed those little shoes and those button in the crotch one piece outfits. I wish I hadn't been in such a hurry to see what they were going to do next, or to get them into their bigger car seats, or for them to graduate onto the next level of preschool. I wish they still needed me to cut up their food, or give them a bath, or feed them a bottle.
Watching them grow up from infants, to toddlers, to little boys has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I just wish I had been a better listener. I wish I would have taken the advice to "enjoy them while they are this age" more seriously.
They were all so right.
My little babies are now little men, and although I am so proud, I just wish I had enjoyed the "small" moments of the past 7 years that much more.
They DO grow up way too fast.

What a crazy weekend!! I don't even know were to start.
Friday night CJ had a game at ESL at 6:10, so we raced to his game which he tied, and then raced out of there an headed to the Blue Cross Arena for Connor's mid-period game during the Amerks game. This is so exciting for the kids, and even MORE exciting when you are goalie!! Connor did great, made this one great save, just like Ryan Miller, and then we watched the Amerks lose...again. :)
Saturday was another busy hockey day. It started off with my 5 mile training walk in the morning, then some errands in the afternoon, and then another hockey game for Connor at 6:00 pm. Just like that, your whole day is shot.
Sunday it was much of the same....4 mile training walk followed up by our personal training session....where....well....once again I got my ass kicked. All for a good cause! :)
Yesterday afternoon it was yet another hockey game, this time CJ's. This was a BIG game for us because it was against the first place team in our league which just happens to be the other Rochester Youth Hockey Mite team. Big rivalry! Guess what? WE WON!! I just knew the Giants were going to win then....the underdog that works hard always wins (well...not always...but...). It was the last regular season game for CJ, and now we move on to tournaments and playoffs - which is really exciting!
Then of course the super bowl was last night and you know how excited everyone was in this house!!
Anyway, it was a great weekend...full of fun times...and realizations that my boys are little men now and that I am no longer 20 and in college in tip-top shape!

.january.
I was playing yesterday with this monster lens that I rented to do hockey pictures this weekend. I swear this lens scares me. It is so heavy that really it makes holding the camera steady so hard.
Keep those fingers crossed that I get some good hockey shots this weekend!
Anyway, I loved this one of CJ.
